Manufacturability analysis🔗︎

To ensure your product is efficiently manufacturable, we review your design against a comprehensive manufacturability analysis of all operations steps. This reduces the risk of orders going into production that we cannot produce. We would ask that you always check your drawings against our requirements and guidelines and adjust your drawings as necessary.

Manufacturability analysis

If we cannot produce the product, you will see a warning in the manufacturability analysis, including suggested changes. In the quotation detail screen, under "Manufacturability" you will see various alerts. So you can see at a glance whether everything is correct.

Where do I find the manufacturability analysis?🔗︎

Under 'operations' you can immediately see whether something is manufacturable in our production. If you click on this, you will go to the manufacturability analysis. If the check mark is green, the file meets our specifications and can be successfully produced by Dumaco.

Orange exclamation mark🔗︎

If you see an orange exclamation mark in the quote under "Manufacturability", your file does not meet the guidelines.

  • Click on the warning to show the analysis and see where what problem is.
  • With all points in the manufacturability analysis, you can choose whether you agree with it, by explicitly accepting this warning when completing the order.
  • If you do not agree with our proposal, please modify the file according to our submission specifications and guidelines. Upload the file again.

With a warning, we can produce your part but often adjust some details. Our proposal is indicated in the manufacturability analysis.

Red warning sign🔗︎

If you see a red warning sign in the quote under "edits," then your file does not meet the guidelines and we unfortunately cannot produce your part.

Non-manufacturable product

Should it happen that we still find out during the production process that your product is not manufacturable (or has quality problems) we will contact you.

Orange question mark🔗︎

You have not yet entered all the 'Part Options' with the specifications for material, sheet thickness and orientation. You will also need to enter some machining options. To do this, click on the 'red pencil'. After you have entered all the part options, our system will start analyzing whether your product/part can be made.

Detail of notifications🔗︎

Within the manufacturability analysis, we also provide detailed notifications, if you see an orange exclamation mark or a red warning sign. To see these detailed notifications, click on relevant operation. A pop-up screen will then open with the full analyse. You can further open the screen on the left side of the detailed analysis for more information and explanation. You can also click on the orange shaded areas of your drawing in the 'previewer'. The following notifications are possible:

  • Minimum product dimensions
  • Maximum product dimensions
  • Small holes

Minimum product dimensions🔗︎

There are limitations to the dimensions of the products we can produce. This depends on the sheet thickness. If you get warning on this, then the specific product is too small.

Maximum product dimensions🔗︎

There are limitations on the dimensions of the products we can produce. This is the case because we are limited by the machinery and purchased materials we use. The maximum sheet size is 2980 x 1480 mm. If you get a warning, then the specific product is too large.

Small holes🔗︎

The size of holes depends on the chosen material and thickness. If you get a warning on this, then too small holes have been found which will be replaced with an piercing. The hole will automatically be replaced with a marker which you can use to drill the hole anyway.

Does my file comply?🔗︎

To find out, first enter the 'Part options' with the specifications for material, sheet thickness and orientation. You also enter some operation options. After this, our software will check if your product/part can be made.

How can I resolve a report?🔗︎

With all the points in the manufacturability analysis, you can evaluate by yourself the reasons why drawing/file is inadequate. Adjust your file according to our submission specifications and guidelines and upload the file again. Our system will then perform the check again.

I have to wait a long time for the price calculation🔗︎

If you have to wait a long time for the price calculation, you can press 'Shift + F5' to refresh the screen. The Dumaco Portal will then reload and the price will be displayed quickly.
