Deburring and edge breaking

We supply all our products completely free of splashes and burrs. It is also possible to break edges to ensure a good end result.

How can I specify edge breaking?

In the Dumaco Portal, you can indicate edge breaking as follows:

• You add your parts to your quote by uploading the files.
• In the 'part options' screen, you then indicate per order line which finishing operations must take place.
• The option 'no deburring' is checked by default if you do not make a choice.

Edge breaking

Depending on the type of material and sheet thickness, you can choose single-sided or double-sided edge breaking. Edge breaking is an additional operation in which the sharp edge of the sheet is broken by machine. The result is a nicely finished straight sheet with 90° angles on all sides. All contamination and unevenness is completely removed and the plate no longer contains any sharp edges.

No deburring

The "'No deburring option' is selected by default if you do not make a choice.

Drumming

We round off the edges of smaller parts by drumming (thumbling). By drumming with grindstones, the contours are very slightly rounded off. The surface of the product is treated with grindstones or polishing stones, giving it a nice smooth dull surface. After drumming, the product is dried, giving a stain-free end result.

No finishing

The "no deburring" finishing option can also be chosen. This gives the fastest turnaround time. Visible tool marks are left on the parts. The 'do not deburr' option is checked by default if no choice is made.
